relate, not compare

Leaders in education can fall into the trap of feeling “terminally unique”-that is, if the data do not fit exactly, they do not apply to where I work. When someone or something is terminally unique, it’s easy to come up with reasons that a proposed change might not work. The solution is to relate, not compare. There is great benefit in pushing ourselves to transfer learning from other industries into the educational environment.
