BUILDING A PORTRAIT OF A GRADUATE USING COMMUNITY FEEDBACK

In this session, you will see how a dynamic school community built a Portrait of a Graduate weaving in the community’s hopes, dreams and aspirations for its students. After obtaining feedback from over 1,100 community members, the Portrait was developed delineating behaviors that predict success after graduation for students leaving pre-school, elementary, middle and high school. Most importantly, you’ll see how this process brought people together to bring the Oak Ridge Schools’ vision to light: “Every student prepared for college, career and life success.”

FROM STRATEGIC PLAN TO CASCADING SCORECARD

Creating alignment isn’t easy and this school district is working diligently to make the work of their new strategic plan owned by all district employees. After completing a strategic plan in 2019, the district used a scorecard system to cascade the work of the strategic plan from the district to departments to all schools.
