It’s hard to fault the child who resists doing homework. After all, she has already put in a long day at school, probably been involved in afterschool activities, and, as the late afternoon spills into evening, now faces a pile of assignments. Parents feel it, too — it’s no one’s favorite time of day.
HOW DO I HELP MY CHILD THROUGH A SCHOOLWORK MELTDOWN?
At the heart of every schoolwork meltdown are anxiety and frustration. No matter how even-keeled your child might be, you are bound to experience a meltdown at some point in their school career. School can be mentally and emotionally draining for many children. Whether in a building or attending remotely, learning requires a lot of energy and can make children self-conscious for hours at a time. There are a few things parents can do to help children move through a schoolwork meltdown.
